The energy infrastructure objective of the 400 kV Overhead Power Line Cernavodă – Stâlpu is a project of common interest at European level, co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), with a total value of around 75 million euros, of which 27 million euros represent non-reimbursable European funding.
The internal line between Cernavodă and Stâlpu helps to strengthen the cross-section between the west coast of the Black Sea (eastern Romania) and the rest of the European system, also contributing to the strengthening of the electricity transmission network in Romania, increasing the interconnection capacity between Romania and Bulgaria and to the integration of wind energy in the Dobrogea area.
