The "High-Efficiency Biomass Cogeneration Plant" (CHPP) project consisted in the installation and commissioning of a biomass-based thermal oil boiler and an ORC (organic rankine cycle) turbogenerator together with all additional services and equipment necessary for automatic operation, in order to simultaneously produce heat (respectively, 5,400 KW hot water at 95/75 degrees C and 1,200 KW superheated water at 150/125 degrees C) and electricity.
Within this project, ELM Electromontaj Cluj achieved the following:
- Design, execution and commissioning: "Installation of turbogenerator connection to the electrical network".
- Execution: "Electrical installations related to Boiler".
- Electrical connection installations between the electrical panel of the boiler and the auxiliary equipment, devices / instruments related to the boiler.
- Execution: "Turbogenerator-related electrical installations".
- Electrical connection installations between the electrical panel of the turbogenerator and the auxiliary equipment, devices / instruments related to the turbogenerator.
- Execution: "Safety electrical power supply installation"
- Design and execution: "Electrical installations (normal and safety lighting installations, as well as electrical power installations) and related telecommunications buildings-administrative body, turbogenerator room, boiler room, biomass storage, supply shed".
- Execution: "Turbogenerator room ventilation installations".
The plant produces 1.3 MW of electricity and almost 7 MW of heat and provides three quarters of the energy requirement of the beneficiary. Through this investment, the company uses the wood waste it generates, thus significantly reducing energy costs and polluting emissions.
