220/110/20 kV Gheorgheni station
The Gheorgheni station is located in the SW part of Gheorgheni town, it is the only injection station within the Transelectrica SA transport network in the 110kV network in Harghita county.
The station supplies the entire county under normal operating conditions. The station modernization works included: replacing the primary equipment in the 20 kV, 110 kV and 220 kV stations respectively; modernization of numerical protection systems with the creation of an ABB installation for the protection of 110kV bars; the realization in the 220 kV station of a new ABB-type remote protection installation and the modernization of the SCADA system for command and control of the station, which allows remote management and its operation without permanent operating personnel.
In the modernized version, the 220/110/20 kV Gheorgheni station has the capacity to supply up to three neighboring counties, in the event of the unavailability of equipment from neighboring stations.
In this work, the connection of the Al tubular bars was made by means of screw clamps. This procedure was easy and less expensive, presenting other advantages such as:
– the assembly was carried out independently of the working conditions and temperature;
– each section (8-15m) was mounted in turn; their connection was made very easily, through the clamps mounting with screws;
– it was not necessary to mount the entire bar section; allowed the realization of provisionals where a was the case, allowing a part of the installation to be kept in operation.
